Less Really is More

By BL Ochman

peanut butterYou can de-clutter your kitchen cabinets and save elbow grease by making common household products do multiple jobs. Put the peanut butter to work, for example.

Besides being the main ingredient in Elvis' favorite sandwich, Jif Peanut Butter makes great shaving cream. And you can grease the axle of your truck or car with it.

Tomato paste will easily clean the bottom of a copper pot and make it look new again. And my nana taught me that toothpaste can remove crayon from walls, scratches from glassware.

Joey Green wrote a book and has a website about Wacky Uses for common household products.

Who knew, for example, that Wishbone Salad Dressing would not only help you get off a ring that stuck on your finger, but also stop itching from insect bites.

What are some weird ways you use household products? Tell us, please!

Toothpaste to get rid of my toddlers "artwork" oh I can't wait to try this one. I really don't want to have to paint the walls again so this is great.

I don't know that this is weird :) but I put a small dish of baking soda in the fridge to keep odours away.

Toothpaste cleans silver like magic. I use it for all my jewelry.
Can't imaging coating my legs in peanut butter, though. :)
