De-stressing the Holidays
By
'Tis the season to be stressed, Fa la la la la…
What about this holiday season makes us so frazzled that we forget the purpose behind all of the hubub? There is usually so much to do and coordinate, with deadlines too! So here are four of my tips for keeping your sanity during this wonderful time of year!
Lists Lists Lists - If you are going away make sure you create a packing list, make a list of all the people you need to purchase presents for, make a list of all the food you need to purchase for the big dinner (we do a Christmas breakfast instead), pretty much get it all written down. It will be less overwhelming trying to remember everything, write it down and clear your mind!
Pause - Take time to pause and reflect on the reasons behind all of the wonderful festivities. It will give you a chance to breathe and calm down.
Shop Early! - A while ago I used to get all my Christmas shopping done prior to November 20th, so I didn't have to send two packages (my Sister's birthday is in November). It was so nice to not have to brave the mall's during December. One trip to the mall in December can seriously stress a person out, between parking and crowds, and inventory out of stock, WAY too much pressure!
Keep the House Picked Up - Tis the season for unexpected visitors. Your neighbor dropping off a gift, family stopping by to say hello, any of these visits will surely stress you out if you feel like your house is a mess. Keep it picked up throughout the day and those visits will be a welcomed surprise!
