Hi.

None of my stuff is especially weird if you consider that I'm a mom, except for one thing.

I have a picture of the doctor I saw Friday afternoon. It's printed with contact info and basic education and certification info. I hadn't ever met this fellow until Friday.

Anyway, the runners-up for weird in my purse are:
* Sudoku puzzles from a puzzle-a-day calendar, bound with Rollabind discs.
* Santa's coloring book, received in the mall on Friday night.
* Zip bag of crayons.

These, of course, are only weird if you're not a mom or a Sudoku fan, or not familiar with Rollabind's binding system.

All the rest of my stuff is very normal–wallet, money, pix of the kids, tissues, pens, club cards and buy-X-get-Y-free cards on a notebook ring, dental floss, lipstick, pain relievers, eyeglass repair tools, emergency pantiliner, known and unknown keys.. Oh yeah, car keys and cell phone too, and sometimes a PDA, a calendar, and a shopping list, not to mention receipts and papers brought home from daycare and errands.

A lot of stuff, but not that weird. I clean out on Thursdays so I'm not hauling a bunch of old crud shopping on the weekend.

My weirdest thing would be Goody ponytail holders. I had my hair cut to above the shoulders in early Sept and haven't been able to put it in a ponytail since! But continue to carry a few around.

McDonald's Monopoly game pieces (didn't that contest end 2 months ago??)
Nothing too weird at the moment but then I recently cleaned out my purse.

Basal Temperature Chart and a Pampered Chef Avacodo knife!

(We are trying for a baby and with no success yet… and well.. as far as the knife… I ate kiwi the other week at work - it works great for taking off the skin)

Guess I'm out of luck - nothing weird. Wallet (with regular stuff in it), keys, wetnap, and a small bottle of that alcohol gel for hand sanitizing.

Sorry, I'm so boring.

I have an infatable football. One of those restaurant kids meal toys that you (I) have to hide until my son eats all his food.

2 empty gum wrappers, 3 bottle caps for free 20 oz sodas, eye glass cleaner wipes, eyeglass screwdriver, a business card for the photography store in the mall b/c the girl working there didn't know the answer to my question and wanted me to call back in the morning, oh… and the package of replacement jewels for my new sweater with jewels on it. That's probably the weirdest things. Everything else is pretty normal, because I cleaned my purse out the other day. I had to take the rocks out that my 2 year old put in.

I keep my purse pretty well cleaned out but as I look thru, I realize some of these things might be strange… A crochet scrubby I made and was so excited about I took it to church to show it off, I have a spool of toole that has to be returned to the store, a pill box that makes me look like a drug pusher but I got tired of carrying around different bottles of otc meds, a stack of phonics memory cards, a stack of cards w/bible scripture written on them, and 3 different bottles of antibacterial lotion. Plus the normal stuff, of course all this is normal to me.

I don't have anything I think is strange, but my sister thinks it is. I carry a credit card sized pocket knife that has scissors and a ball point pen in it. (It gets used more than you would think). I also carry bandaids, floss, a huge pill case and glitter lip gloss for my daughter.

Unfortunately, my purse is way overstuffed. Never can find what I want. Right now the wierdest thing is 2 empty Printer ink cartridges. (It is right where I put them 3 weeks ago when I meant to stop by the office supply store to turn them in for a discount on new ones)

some things others find strange but are not to me:

headache tablets
ponytail holders (when I go to gym and forget to put the current one back in the gym bag)
notebook and pen

Carrie, I think all moms should carry a pocket knife with scissors. When my oldest son was about three, he liked to carry his "blanky" everywhere. At a fabric store one afternoon, he was keeping himself occupied by spinning around in an office chair when the tattered strings on his blanky got tangled around the bottom of the chair. Boy did those scissors come in handy! You never know…

I have a little bag of dried mushrooms. My sister and her husband have been traveling the last 6 years in their RV and do many wonderful things along the way. One of them is mushroom hunting. Last year they gave us all little bags of dried Candy caps, scientifically known as Lactarius rubidus. They smell like butterscotch or maple sugar. They make my purse smell yummy!

LOL - I'll bet it smells great, Lori, but definitely a little weird!

The weirdest things in my purse right now are a small stainless steel pet bowl and a pair of mismatched gloves. I couldn't find the mates and it has been cold! The pet bowl is definitely odd, but I keep meaning to take it out, and at least it is clean! Another thing that people find odd is I have a keyring with mystery keys on it. I don't know what they go to, but I figure eventually I'll figure it out or toss them.

I have have a pet goose who likes to pick things up and put them into other things. I guess when I wasn't looking he must have picked up several mouthfulls of mashed grains and deposited them in my bag when I wasn't paying attention.

Because now I have mashed grains in my bag and I don't think I put them there.

Rachael - my husband carried mystery keys around for years. Through a 600 mile move, in fact, before he finally gave up.

And my question for Haze: How did your goose have access to your purse??

He's a bit like having a dog, he just wanders around outside, but mostly he camps out by the front door and waits for someone to come out. I must have put my shoes and bag down by the door one day when he decided to get nosy! I'm lucky he decided not to take anything out and dump it into his water dish. I'll take grains in my bag over that any day.

LOL! What a fun pet!!

An antique bottle of holy water and a silver fork are probably my weirdest objects of the moment. The fork came to work with my lunch. The holy water is from when we put our beloved cat down recently; I gave her a sort of "kitty last rites."

Well I keep my purse rather organized but I still some how manage to get some odd and end things. Right now I got two liquid coffee creamers from the gas station, a mayo packet, a broken ruber band, a used tissue ( in a zip lock baggy..still kinda gross) 3 chapstick, one grape, one non flavored but it works really great, and one that is..empty ..that was new like a few days ago..STARES at 4 year old. Ok, I got hand sanitizer, tylonel, goodies powder, one bandaid, eye glass cleaner and cloth, almost empty perfume, small hair brush, a cell phone with no minutes that hasnt had minutes since august, a list of items to get at the dollar tree, a nail file, a small pocket knife, pepper spray, hand wipes inside a ciggarette case ( the wipe case was to big..) a half empty pack of smokes, FOUR lighters, guh ive needed one for two days and somehow they fell underneath the purse organizer, my check book, a change purse (really small..too small) HAha ok um inside my purse..is a cardboard box lol with little boxes inside it, its my purse organizer, you can see it on my blog lol.

The strangest thing in my purse right now. . (Ssh, don't tell) - are DVD's I'm hiding to give my husband for Christmas.

My purse is the only thing in the house he's been trained not to touch, so they're totally safe in there. . . . or are they?

The strangest thing I have to say is in my purse right now is a rock. I pick one out from a place I go that is special. I usually put it in a jar with the rest-but can't remember where I got this one!

I have 2 "funchop" chopstick helpers, (these are little plastic things that go on the chop sticks to help kids hold them properly) a pacifier and a couple of baby ratlles. Can you tell I have kids?? Also a couple of recipes I cut out, They must be good since there still in my purse! who knows how old they are!

The strangest thing I have in my purse right now is a utility pole tag and nail to install it. Didn't get to take care of this before work ended, so felt this was the safest place to keep it!

I just went to see what I had that was interesting - the only thing I could find that was suspect was an empty mini box of raisins.

By far the strangest thing I have in my wallet is the business card from my former hairstylist. About 12 years ago she murdered her boyfriend (I kid you not) and went to prison. She is out now and back to doing hair. (not mine!) I bet not many people are carrying an ex con's business card. What do I win???? :o)

I don't carry a purse really. My diaper bag has become a diaper bag/purse hybrid.

The strangest things are probably a tiny bottle of ketchup, a tooth, and a bloody sock in a baggie.

I meant to clean all of that out yesterday.

Shucks! If only this was a year ago! I was carrying a potty seat for my son!

Well I have Chicken Poop in my purse!

Yep yep but its my favorite lip gloss and thats actually the name.
And Elvis mints from my moms trip to Nashville.
And then just your basics. But I have a Butler Bag by Jen Groover it has organized compartments and everything has a home in my purse

Hmmm! Maybe the strangest thing in my wallet right now is a few fake Canadian dollars. I've never been to Canada, I am not even close to that part of the world, and I still managed to have a few *fake* Canadian dollars in my wallet, that have been there for years now. The "why" is a whole different story.

I also have a few European coins (again, I am not from there), from my last trip to Paris. And even before I've ever went to Europe, I've always had different European coins in my purse, even before the introduction of the Euro. I was supposed to add them to my collection (read to take them off my everyday-wallet and keep them somewhere else), but I never did it, for years.

I also have an Eiffel Tower ticket, as a souvenir of my trip, since I didn't take any pictures, grrr!

I also have the smallest units of our local currency. We don't need those very often, I personally don't need them at all, but I like to keep a few in my wallet.
There was once a surprise contest in a local supermarket, where they said that the first person to take the smallest unit of our currency to a cashier there would win a car. I was not there at the moment, I was just told that, needless to say that encouraged me to always keep my few coins in my wallet, hoping for a similar contest, somewhere, some day, lol.

I also have a second wallet, an empty one, just in case.

My purse is clean right now, but a few examples of strange things you'd find in it in other days is a chewed gum wrapped in a tissue, because they don't have waste bins in some doctors' waiting rooms, doh!
Some rocks that my nephews insisted that I keep from our last 'trip' to the beach.
Paris metro tickets.
Local buses' tickets.

Today,In my purse I found The SnotSucker! I mean, come on! And to top it all off, I had been searching for it days before to “do what you do with a snotsucker” on my little boy! Well, couldn’t find it…So I’m not going to even go into how I had to extract the contents of his nose that day! I’ll leave that to your imagination!haha If only I’d looked in the most logical place…My purse?!

I'm embarrassed to admit it but I have a bottle of goat vitamins and alfafa cube treats in my purse. I bought them at the feed store and put the little bag in my purse so I wouldn't forget it the car and needless to say it's still in my purse but not in the car ..lol

I have my daughter's baby tooth (she took it to school w/o my knowledge), a watch band, and Spongebob Squarepants.

A half chewed dog bone (sadly it was the baby I think that chewed it not the dog.. but Im keeping it for safe keeping just incase), a plastic frog, three year old movie tickets (i think thats the last time i went.. lol), a squashed chocolate candy, an wheat penny (woohoo), some unidentifable perfume samples… (but they smell nice).. and random junk and trash… nothing actually useful or worth anything!!

I often would put my debit card and cell phone in my daughter's purse (that's really all I need, those two things) since she was usually with me. She's now moved in with her partner and being an empty nester sucks. lol. And she tells me that I need to get my own purse now. Guess I'll have to shop for one eventually.

My strangest things are me 2 car keys that will not start my car. What they will do is open my car door so I can get to my electronic keys. Which I always lock inside.

Just went to look in my purse and I have those suntanning googles(the ugly little ones)! Which is weird because I haven't gone tanning since before my 5 month old was born! They are just mixed in around all the normal stuff…diapers, wipes, missing socks. I was kind of embarrassed when my baby pulled them out at the park to suck on them!!!

I didn't think I had anything strange, but for someone else, they might think that it is very strange. It is a wooden eye (deer or Ox). Also called an Ojo (spanish for eye) Believe it or not, I have carried one around since my daughter was born. My husband (spanish) and his family have different superstitions. I carry the Ojo, to keep my daughter from getting sick when some looks at her without touching her. Ask anyone of spanish (mexican) decent. They will back this up. I didn't believe it either at first, but 8 years later, I still carry it! Count me in on the contest… thanks

A pair of Disney's Cars undies in a ziploc baggy! LOL! No, I'm not a sicko! They've been in there to use as a spare pair and "dirty undies transport bag" since I started potty training my oldest son! LOL! I guess I could probably take them out now since he hasn't had an accident in over a year! HaHA!
