Command Center in a Basket
By
Yesterday Michelle asked how to set up a Command Center.
There are so many ways. I decided to show mine because it is compact and fairly inexpensive.
I bought a basket and popped two three-ring binders into it. One binder is for all of our family information. The other is my recipe binder.
I also have a section in the back with a few file folders for things that I don’t want to hole punch.
The family binder has pockets in the inside that hold coupons and invitations. I have an emergency phone list for doctors, dentist, insurance agent, plumber, phone and gas companies. There are sections for school, sports, my husbands work schedule and extracurricular activities. Each of those sections has plastic pocket dividers for papers that I want to access easily. There are phone lists in the back for church, choir and school.
The recipe binder holds all of my favorite recipes. I divide them like this: appetizers, dessert, drinks, main course, meat, salad, soup, vegetables.
I keep this basket on the kitchen counter next to the phone and near the family wall calendar. That way everything is right at my fingertips.
