Stationary Bike For A Freezing Week

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

I can’t believe how cold it is! Let me revise that statement – I can’t believe how cold it is where all of you guys live! Here in Pasadena, CA it feels like a mid-summer day, with highs in the 70s. But for those of you in the rest of the country, getting all of that precipitation that we so desperately need (seriously, what is going on), it sure feels impossible to get your rides in. Instead of holing up and missing all of your much-needed riding time, look to a stationary bike for exercise!

It’s a pretty simple solution to this freezing dilemma. Since the roads are about as icy and cold as a witch’s knee, I would recommend staying indoors as much as possible. Otherwise you will end up falling over and injuring yourself. If you get too seriously injured, you may not even be able to get on this stationary bike. So just avoid any unnecessary issues and get on a stationary bike for these cold winter months.

And since it doesn’t seem like this year is a fluke and these frigid temperatures are likely to continue, I would recommend looking into purchasing a stationary bike for your home. A great choice for your home is the Recumbent Stationary Bike by Sunny Health and Fitness.

Stationary Bike

With a cost of just 200 dollars, this is a great choice for those days you just do not want to go out and face the elements. Hop on this stationary bike when it is raining, snowing, sleeting or even just for those days it is too hot and humid to go for a ride.

So go ahead and get this stationary bike so you can continue to work out even though it is just miserable out. That way us riders on the west coast do not get too far ahead of you!

The Dreaded Space Behind the Door… And What to Do with it.

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Just when we thought we had every available space in the house expertly utilized, the makers of the Heidi Shelf go and prove us wrong! This patented, unique shelving system by Foremost makes use of what may be the last wasted space in the home: Behind the door. As you might have already noticed, the space behind any door is tapered when the door is open, making it impossible to fit any substantial shelf back there. But the Heidi Behind the Door Shelving System solves this problem by using a tapered design itself (down to 2.5″ deep at the corner), allowing it to fit seamlessly behind a door whether it is open or closed. Available in several colors and a junior size for the kids room!

Bicycle Backpack Buyer’s Guide for Any Bicyclist

Facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

The other day I was off on a great bicycling adventure across the great metropolitan area of Los Angeles, California when I ran into a very bad situation. I was starting to approach the city center when I heard a drawn-out ripping sound, a sudden weightless feeling and a small crash behind me. My bicycle backpack self-destructed. After a solid 5 years of service, this pack had simply given up on life.

I found myself in the quandary of having a whole bunch of junk, and no way to transport it. It was just a water bottle, journal, some bicycle repair tools and my electronics – but you cannot carry these items in your hand while you ride along a busy urban thoroughfare. I ran into the small grocery mart in the strip mall across the street and got a little black plastic bag – which they had in defiance of city ordinance banning plastic bags. I used the bag to carry my stuff as I headed a few miles back home.

I knew that I needed to start looking for a good bicycle backpack for my next extra-long rides, not to mention my daily commute. So I needed a bicycle backpack with ample storage space for all of the scattered items I need to lug around every day. It would be nice if the bicycle backpack would not just suddenly fall apart five years down the road. I also wanted something that looks a little stylish.

Bicycle Backpack

The Trail Day Pack ended up being the perfect choice for this cyclist. This pack is designed for active lifestyles, and includes a built in hydration station. This backpack is extremely durable and provides ample storage space. And not that I would need it in East Los Angeles – but a concealable rain cover is included with this bicycle backpack.

It makes the perfect bicycle backpack.
